Lynchburg, Chattanooga and Nashville, TN
With J.J. Kwashnak
NOT Duck enjoys his spirits. Whether they be at Halloween, or at other times of the year in bottles.
He learned from his friend Nancy the value of the good old fashioned Tennessee Sipping Whisky.
And now that he lived in Georgia, well the Jack Daniels Distillery is only a hop, skip and jump away. So one afternoon, it was off to Lynchburg he was to head.
After crossing the Duck river, but not stopping for pictures, he and J.J. wend their ways through the back country of Tennessee.
Finally they arrived at the lone home of that dark beverage. NOT was happy to take the tour and discover the story of the potent potable.
First off was a visit to the founder himself, Jack Daniels. He was not much of a conversationalist, but he was happy to be inside away from the birds. Well, generally away from the birds. He didn't mind NOT.
Now when you got all that alcohol around, you have to be careful. And the distillery has its own fire department. Very convenient.
NOT sat atop and practiced making siren sounds. He didn't do well as a siren though, he couldn't lure anyone onto the rocks.
He was impressed to find the home of the original distillery offices, though they smelled of whisky. He couldn't figure out why.
Of course, in the life is ironic category, Lynchburg is located in a dry county. So you could distill the liquor there but you couldn't go to the store and buy it. It took a special act of the Tennessee legislature to allow the distillery to sell it's own product to the visiting public.
Unfortunately, NOT stopped by on Sunday, where there was no sales in the state.
Typical NOT timing.
NOT did find that ducks were welcome at the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga. Unfortunately, they don't get to travel much, so NOT found it to be a nice place for him to visit, but he wouldn't want to live there.
In other related trips that have nothing to do with anything else, except that they took place in Tennessee (maybe under the influence of too many JD and cokes - we're not sure).
NOT checks out the Gaylord Entertainment Center in Nashville when the ice was not laid out for hockey games. He kept an eager eye out for random Predators that could threaten him.
He was told that there was a statue under all this paint at Lipscomb University in Nashville. NOT was not sure. He felt he was being buffaloed.
