That One's a Beak-Twister

With David Backman

August 2002

While touring the United Kingdom with David, the pair found themselves over on a side trip to Wales.

Now NOT is a duck of superlatives. The best. The tallest. The furthest south. The center of the US.

But this took the cake. The longest town name in the world.

(a.k.a. The Church of Mary in the Hollow of the White Hazel Near the Fierce Whirlpool and the Church of Tysilio By the Red Cave.)

Now that's a beak-ful. Even though the common abbreviation is Llanfairpwl or LlanfairPG, they still use the loooooong name all over.

Despite getting phonetic help, NOT still couldn't quiet get it out.

NOT got so confused that when a traffic sign told him to watch to the left, he didn't. Why should he look left when there is only a building there?

Or was it his other left?

Wales hurt NOT's head.
