Not Hotel but Hospital Rwanda

Humanitarian (and Duckarian) Mission to Rwanda

With Allison Robbins

April 2006

Much of what NOT gets to do is fun travel all around the world.  But sometimes he also gets to go along to places where others might not go.  In this case, he was off to strife-torn Rwanda on a humanitarian mission with someone from the University of California San Francisco School of Medicine.

NOT is not very well versed in Kinyarwanda, one of the three national languages of Rwanda (along with English and French) but seeing that he's visiting a hospital, and since each point starts with "Kava Saa" he's thinking it is a set of rules or instructions.

In Rwanda is the "Parc National Des Volcans" (National Park of the Volcanoes), which is part of the Virunga Conservation Area, an area that is a protected habitat for almost 400 endangered mountain gorillas. NOT couldn't see any other gorillas, they seemed to be hidden in the mist.
