Driving is tiring work - just ask the locals at the truck stop diner. But sometimes, you want McDonalds, and sometimes it's Whatever. But combine them and you can have a Whataburger (which had made a corporate appearance in one of Dave' books).
NOT insisted they stop for a Whataburger? That was a mistake.
Such a collection of fine meat made the duo consider becoming vegetarian. Just like the inhabitants of Biosphere 2 (no, not Electric Bugaloo) may be, with 8 scientists sealed up in confinement living. Or are they just trying to avoid any potential visit by Pauly Shore?
NOT wanted to know if the scientists did windows? Or would they
just get dirtier and dirtier?
Kind of like our atmosphere.. how profound.
Very actively trying to avoid Montezuma's revenge on the trip, the two decide not to tempt fate and stopped to explore Montezuma's castle - a centuries old site built into the Arizona rock.
Leaving from man made carvings in walls, the scenery changed to natural carvings in the walls and the ground, where the Colorado river produces one of the natural wonders of the world - the Grand Canyon. The scope and size, despite Robbie Kenevil's adventures, made a small duck feel even smaller.
NOT found it gorge-ous, though he was a bit put off by signs with skulls and crossbones.
He never remembered seeing that sign when the Brady Bunch visited the canyon and were scared by a fake bear.
So what is a small duck to do to make himself feel bigger after the canyon? Well, being able to straddle four states at once sure helps. NOT got to do so at Four Corners - where Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and Utah all meet.
Seeing how NOT had already been to Utah, Colorado and Arizona, it was time to head into New Mexico for the first time.
